Marjie is a professional theatre artist, artist educator and arts administrator. She is the Director of the Junior Ensemble at Young People’s Theatre where she has held a variety of leadership positions including Acting Associate Artistic Director, Education; Education & Participation Curriculum Associate; Interim Community Volunteer Manager; Interim Drama School Director; and Resident Artist Educator. Along with facilitating arts-based school and community programming, Marjie has focused the last several years on supporting established teaching artists with program development and mentoring emerging teaching artists including as a professor in the Arts Education and Community Engagement Graduate Certificate program at Centennial College. As an active member of the Ontario College of Teachers, she facilitates workshops for educators to integrate drama into other subjects in the curriculum and to support social literacy in schools. Marjie has performed in and assistant directed several theatre productions. Most recently, she wrote, directed, and acted as part of Act 3 collective’s Mary-Go-Round Project. 4th Line Theatre credits include Doctor Barnardo’s Children; Queen Marie and The Winslows of Derryvore (assistant director). She is excited to be joining the 4th Line Theatre community again and looks forward to assistant directing Maja Ardal’s Wishful Seeing.
