4th Line Theatre is where art and community meet and volunteers are essential to our success. There are many ways to contribute, from eight week acting commitments to helping out for just one day.

There’s something for everyone and it’s a fun way to spend time outdoors!

  1. Assist with the ‘build’ (sets, costumes, props) June and July, various times and schedules

  2. Help backstage with hair and makeup (1 hour or more for performances)

  3. Work in Front-of-House;  greeting patrons, taking tickets, showing people to their seats (evenings)

  4. Distribute brochures and posters (Occurs in May, on your own schedule)

  5. Help at Kawartha Club Delta Bingo (Clonsilla Avenue in Peterborough, 2 hours on Sundays)
In an era where it feels like everyone is asking for money - to sponsor, to build, to donate – 4th Line Theatre would like to ask you for something different. Your time. 4th Line Theatre being a not-for-profit, benefits from our amazing sponsors and members who have the financial abilities to donate money and we cannot thank them enough. Not everyone can afford to contribute financially and therefore we have many others ways in which people can support the theatre. Volunteers are the backbones of this organization - without them we could not offer all of the amazing programming people have come to expect. 4th Line Theatre, as a part of the Kawartha Bingo Association, has weekly sessions at Delta Bingo which brings in almost $20,000/year for the theatre, monies which go directly towards artistic programming expenses.  For as little as two hours, a few times a year, you can raise upwards of $340 for 4th Line at each bingo session you attend. All that is required to volunteer for this important fundraising stream is to attend a two-hour training session at Delta Bingo to become a bonafide bingo volunteer, this can all be arranged by simply contacting our Box Office Manager. From there, we send out monthly emails with our scheduled bingo time slots (typically the first Sunday of every month from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm) if you are available to volunteer you can simply reply to the email. And FYI - you always volunteer with a partner, so it is a great opportunity to meet other 4th Line enthusiasts. Bingo volunteering is a fun two hours out, meeting different people throughout the community as well as getting to meet 4th Line Theatre’s core staff, while helping the theatre to meet its fundraising goals. You may find yourself volunteering with another amazing patron who has generously donated their time to even our Managing Artistic Director or our General Manager. As a volunteer at 4th Line you are entitled to two complimentary tickets for our summer season. This our way of saying thank you for all that you do for us!

The engagement of youth volunteers has been a cornerstone of 4th Line Theatre’s creative activities since 1992. Our Emerging VOICES training program gives local youth exceptional learning experience and job training in acting, production, customer service and marketing in a professional theatre environment.

Benefits of being a volunteer

Come to the Winslow Farm this summer to help us and to have fun – for eight weeks or just one day! We are also looking for volunteers to assist with our holiday-themed off-season productions in winter 2019.
